The XLC PD-S17 system pedal is a double-sided, SPD-compatible system that is ideal for use on cyclocross, gravel and mountain bikes where a reliable, stable pedal stroke is desired for maximum power output. Made from a reliable aluminium body and cage and with a material axle made from steel (CroMo, CNC-machined, sealed), the pedals weigh 392 g. The XLC PD-S17 has a bearing with cassette axle and a 9/16 inch thread.
The advantage of a click system like the PD-S17 system pedal is that you have more maximum power available for a short time. Since it is a double-sided pedal, the release torque is adjustable. This means that you can adjust the torque if you have difficulty clicking in or out of the pedal system.
